OBX Megatron

Inspired by the live action movie adaptation of the villainous leader of the Decepticons in Transformers, “OBX Megatron” is the creation of Brad Biddle, built entirely by hand and standing an intimidating eight feet tall. Brad was initially impressed with the Transformers he saw greeting fans at Universal Studios Orlando, FL. When a friend shared a link to cosplay costume contest photo gallery online, he found his inspiration to dive in and build his first costume.

Brad’s OBX Megatron debuted at the 2nd Annual Outer Banks Halloween Parade in Nags Head, North Carolina in October 2015, where he won first place in the adult men category of the costume contest at the event. From there, OBX Megatron next travelled to the Mad Monster Party horror and pop culture convention in Charlotte, NC, where he placed second in the cosplay contest in March 2016. He continues to travel throughout the east coast attending a variety of cons and other events. Additionally, Brad is a proud member of the Superhero Alliance of Western New York.

When his job relocated him and his family to Buffalo, New York in the spring of 2016, Brad set his sights on the first Nickel City Con, where he represented Halloween Daily News, and captured another first place award in their inaugural costume contest. Since its inception, Brad has made numerous upgrades to his costume, including a voice amplifier so he can speak to fans and an electrically lit Decepticon symbol, which glows a menacing red.

In 2017, Brad returns to Nickel City Con with his creation, this time as a featured guest, so don’t miss your chance to get a photo with the awesome east coast sensation that is OBX Megatron!
