Creating a safe and fun space for all fans
NCCC strongly believes that all attendees, exhibitors and staff should be treated with dignity and respect. NCCC has a Zero Tolerance Policy; acts of violence or sexual harassment will not be tolerated. Any instances of violence or sexual harassment must be reported to security immediately. Show Management will promptly respond to any incident or suggestion of violence or sexual harassment.
NCCC encourages all attendees, exhibitors and staff to exercise reasonable judgment in identifying potentially dangerous situations. Threats, threatening language, or any other acts of aggressions, violence or sexual harassment made toward or by any attendee/exhibitor/staff will NOT be tolerated.
For purposes of this policy, a threat includes but is not limited to any verbal or physical harassment or abuse, attempts at intimidating or instilling fear in others, menacing gestures, flashing of weapons, stalking, or any other hostile, aggressive, injurious and /or destructive actions undertaken for the purpose of domination or intimidation.
NCCC expressly prohibits any acts or threats of violence or sexual harassment by any attendee, exhibitor or staff against another in or around the convention facilities or elsewhere at any time. All reports of violence or sexual harassment will promptly be investigated by show security.
If an investigation confirms that a threat of a violent act, or violence/sexual harassment itself has occurred, NCCC will take swift appropriate corrective action with regard to the offending person, up to and including immediate discharge from the show and the facility in a permanent manner.
Nickel City Comic Con provides an equal and accessible fan experience to all of our customers, including persons requiring accessibility services. We are committed to giving people who require accessibility services the same opportunity to access all of our goods and services and allowing them to benefit from the same services in the same place and in a similar way to all our fans. Below is the NCCC Accessibility Policy.
Where do I go to enter the event? If you have any accessibility requirements or restrictions, please go to the Nickel City Comic Con Merchandise Booth in the main entrance and someone can assist you.
What if I have a medical companion? Fans who require accessibility services and have a medical companion with them may bring a service person free of charge; a complimentary admission pass for their service person will be provided. The medical companion will be granted access to the same areas of the show as the fan requiring assistance. For example, if a VIP Pass is purchased, their companion will be given access to all VIP benefits, such as front of the line access, etc. to aid the fan who requires their assistance. Medical companions are required to stay with and assist the patron with disabilities.
Is there accessibility seating in Panels and Screenings? We provide accessible seating based on availability. Please be aware that all seating for Panels and Screenings are on a first-come, first-served basis and we cannot guarantee seating for everyone. Fans who require accessible seating should plan to arrive to a Panel at least 15 minutes prior to the event. Please keep in mind that many events are very popular and seating may not be available if you wait until the last minute to get to the room. Please read your Program and plan your day accordingly being sure to leave additional time for lines.
What about Autographing and Photo Ops? Unfortunately, we cannot allow priority access to signings at the convention. Guests often sign for limited amounts of time and to be fair for all attendees, we cannot allow a fan to bypass any autographing lines – unless you have a VIP Pass. We recommend arranging to have someone within your group wait in line for you. When your spot reaches the front of the line, you may re-join for your signing.
Is the Buffalo Convention Center fully accessible? The Buffalo Convention Center is fully accessible and our show maps have all stair and elevator locations marked.
Is there anywhere I can rent a wheelchair, walker or cane? NCCC does not provide or rent special equipment. If you require such services, please acquire one independently prior to the show.
Do you provide deaf interpreters? NCCC can accommodate requests up to 2 weeks before the event for Panels. Because of demand for interpreters, we cannot guarantee to accommodate your request. On-site requests for interpreters cannot be facilitated. If you would like to request an interpreter, please contact us with your name and email and we will be in touch to try and facilitate.
Are service animals permitted inside the show? Guide dogs and service animals are welcome at our shows, provided they are leashed or under similar control as appropriate. We ask attendees to have a certification license for service animals and are wearing vests that identify them as service animals. Attendees with service animals on-site at the event assume complete responsibility for their animal for the duration of their time at the event.
